2026 GRAMMY winner Matthew Whitaker discovered his passion for music at age three after receiving a keyboard from his grandfather, launching a global career with appearances on Showtime at the Apollo, Ellen, and 60 Minutes. Matthew starred in, produced, and scored the Emmy-nominated About Tomorrow, and has contributed to acclaimed films, commercials, and performances. A three-time ASCAP award winner, he is dedicated to music education, accessibility, and cross-genre collaboration.

Good Bad Things (2024) is an indie romantic comedy-drama about Danny, a disillusioned entrepreneur with muscular dystrophy who reluctantly ventures into online dating. When he matches with an enigmatic photographer, the experience challenges him to confront his vulnerabilities and embrace a profound journey of self-acceptance and love.

The film has been praised by critics for its grounded realism, emotional depth, and refusal to sugarcoat the realities of physical disability, all while delivering a heartfelt romantic story.

“Good Bad Things” is an intimate, small story about the gigantic issue that challenges and terrifies us all: the collision between the desperate need to be seen and loved and the fear that what people might see will repel rather than attract them. Written by lifelong friends Shane D.
